12-arm Waterford Powerscourt chandelier in Brentwood, New York

12-arm Waterford Powerscourt chandelier
Price: $6,600
Type: Home styling, For Sale

This is the real deal, made in Waterford by Irish craftsmen. Waterford crystal creates a stunning diffusion of light and color that transforms residential interior spaces into grand palaces. And this one will dazzle guests in the room where it is hung. Waterford makes bigger ones, but you'll need a ballroom. In your home it becomes the main conversation piece in the dining room as the dinner begins. Or stops guests in their tracks in the entryway. The reputation of these chandeliers is known all over the world. Waterford crystal is not, alas, made in Ireland any longer. But this chandelier was NOT made by folks in Slovakia or other places in Eastern Europe, as Waterford products have been since the company began emerging from bankruptcy. This chandelier has been in a stately home since 1996. This chandelier is gorgeous and ready to hang right now as it is. No missing pieces (which are very expensive to replace). Unmatched quality in crystal for exactly half the price of a new one. You may be reticent because it's not brand new. Consider the differences between a new one and one that's been previously owned. With a new one you get a box. And that's pretty much it. Quality crystal does not shrink, or rust, or fade or need a tune-up, An occasional cleaning preserves its luster, and it just had one. The MSRP for this chandelier is $13,200. $6,600 is a lot to pay for a box. Use that money to go somewhere warm. Take a cruise. I want you to be completely comfortable buying it. It's in Brentwood, N.Y., on Long Island. Please feel free to stop by and see it. If you're not close by and know people who are, send them. Any questions, please ask. 38 inches high, 36 inches wide, weighs 67 pounds. As you can see, my skills as a photographer are somewhat lacking. O.K., nonexistent. Be assured that the crystal is as clear as, well, crystal. And I've included a few close-ups so you can see there's no pitting on the shiny parts. The pictures show a Rube Goldberg hanging and wiring job. I had it mostly disassembled for shipping and had to re-assemble it for the photos.
